The Trans Gold HSS is very classic Charvel! Two piece body, 3 pickups. Very cool. I also like the Single hum, but not in what I call "cheap guitar red"! A single hum in white, with chrome hardware would be choice!!

For any of you who are my age (late 30s), there was what was cool 20-25 years ago, and what's cool now.
I had a flourescent pink Charvel at one time...and they still make that color. In the late 80s, there really wasn't anything wrong with that...but then again, there wasn't anything wrong with dressing up like a woman either.
I put down my electric guitars for a good 7 or 8 years during the late nineties, and into the new century...and when I started playing electrics again, I sold off my old guitars and bought all new...starting with a PRS CE 22. Every guitar I've purchased has a very classic look to it...from the Fender traditional sunburst...Les Paul, PRS...even my Ibanez isn't typical wild colors...it's a turtle shell brown (if you will). So going back to Charvel was a little strange as far as the looks of the guitars go. My first was white...I like white...it's simple, and it doesn't look dated. When I picked up a SoCal two weeks later, I almost got white again, but took red instead. I just didn't feel right holding a red guitar. It's not for me anymore. I'd certainly not call it cheap looking...I would probably be more apt to call it "less mature". Of course, that's just my opinion...and we all know what opinions are like...
When I traded up the red for the trans gold, I just felt back in my element again.
But even if you own a pink guitar, if it's your thing, go for it...I'd never criticize you for it.

I agree Todd, to each his own! I just said I wasn't a fan of Fiesta Red guitars. If anyone wants to own one, that's fine! I wouldn't. I have very simple guitar tastes, like yours. My PRS is McCarty burst, my Les Paul is Washed Cherry burst, my Jackson is pearl white. I never owned a neon guitar, and never will!

PS--I just bought a Sea Sick Green SD-1! Can't wait to see what this color really looks like in person.

Hey Andy...they had a Sea Sick SD 1 at TR Music (where I bought mine) this past weekend. Everyone liked it a lot. It's different without being too "radical". It's actually pretty classy lookin....which I wouldn't normally associate with Sea Sick Green
I think you'll be pretty pleased when you get it.

Yeah, thanks. I figure it looks more like a classic Strat color, and is nice and light without being too similar to my white Soloist.
                PS--Where is TR Music?

Where are you in Jersey man? TR (Toms River) Music...they got a great shop down there. I've gotten a couple good deals there, and the guys that work there are pretty cool guys.
I go to Guitar Center all the time (just like anyone)...the one on 22 and the one on 18...but those places are always so friggin crowded, and I'm not impressed with the work they do on guitars (i.e. setups, etc)
TR is a pretty big place, so you'll probably find what you want, and you don't feel like you're in a walmart. Not to mention, they are the only Charvel dealer in the state.
I live in Hillsborough, but my mom lives at the shore...so every time I go down to her house, I have to stop in TR Music.

I'm in Morris county, next time I am in the TR area, I'll check that place out! Of course, that might not be till the summer knowing how I stay north. Odd that since most every store stocks Fender, and Charvel is part of Fender, that still nobody carries them in NJ?

That Guitar Center on 22 is pretty much good for strings and picks, and that's it. The guitars are all set up terribly, and they have no stock of Marshall amps to demo.

Sounds good to me. I actually have a couple of waverunners....if you need an excuse to come down the shore other than a music store.

Actually, it's been ten years since I've played in a band, and I'm lookin to get back in...if you guys know anyone lookin for a solid rhythm player with some lead chops, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know about it.

Thanks...I'll look forward to the first TR Music store 'meet n greet'
