Yeah Trace.... AWESOME.
I think it's funny when people see something that someone else has and project their life situation onto that other person and then deem that other persons choices to have that much gear as excessive.
I don't know that much about Trace but I do know that those guitars have not dropped in value as much as the stock market and retirement accounts in the past few years. Excessive collection or smart financial decision?
I don't know much about Trace but to say I would rather have my house paid off than have that many guitars is making the assumption that Trace's house isn't already paid off. Maybe it already is. Maybe his accountant has advised him not to pay off the house because he needs the write-off.
I don't know much about Trace but I know there are lot's of guys making $25k a year that have $2500 dollar guitars. And if we want to include cars there are TONS of people making $40k a year driving $35k cars. What's more excessive, the $35k car to that person or a Jay Leno's collection in relation to Jay Leno's money? Maybe Trace is an inventor or a lawyer. Maybe he is a brain surgeon or orthodontist. Maybe he owns a successful construction company. Maybe he won the lotto. Maybe him having $200k worth of guitars is less of an investment in guitars in his financial situation than someone else having $4k worth of guitars. Maybe the guy with $4k in gear has spent a much more excessive amount of his available money on guitars.
I sit back and look at Trace's Charvel collection and APPRECIATE that he is sharing them with us, fellow Charvel freaks on a freaking Charvel forum. I'd rather see them all in one thread than have to read 35 different threads with 2 guitars per thread.Last edited by Chubtone; 02-06-2010, 03:09 AM.

Very nice collection. I'm not sure what all the controversy is about. Buy a Cuda and you've sunk more cash than had you accumulated a roomful of Charvels. My biggest concern is that I don't see a pink and black bullseye!
The board on that Candy Cane is insane, btw. You're a walking wonder, you're a metal machine.

My family has a fair amount of guitars (50+) and we always TALK about setting up areas like this somewhere, but to actually have it is awesome! And inspiring, thank you!
