  • '83 San Dimas Charvel/Jackson Destroyer Bass?

    Hey all
Here's the scoop. I've had this bass for nearly 20 years having purchased it from a friend who was a major Jackson collector back in the day. This piece was just that to him considering he dealt primarily with very desirable models such as many Robbin Crosby's guitars, K.K. Downing etc and had no reason to lie; I'd just like all of your opinions on it.
From what I was told, the body is a San Dimas Charvel with a USA Jackson neck. I separated them for the first time today to take some photos for which I'm posting for your review. More can be added if need be. Electronics appear to be DiMarzio and the guitar is in near mint, very nice. Neckplate and bridge are generic so no serial numbers here but have typical neck pocket/neck markings.
    Thanks

Very nice parts bass... the stamp on the neck was used starting around 1988, so I would guess it's roughly from that era. The body looks really cool, I've never seen a Charvel San Dimas Bass before, but it does look like something they might have built back in the day.

the body (especially the neck pocket markings look old school Charvel to me). Do you have a pic of the back and a look inside the control cavity?

btw I have seen "xtra" written on several Charvels over the eyar.

            More Pics

Here are a few more shots. Cavity cover is of brushed anodized aluminum and pots are mounted through brass plate attached to the interior. All look original to the body including pickups.
