Different strokes. I love the yellowing/browning as the neck ages, but I'm not a big fan of the gray/black buildup from string corrosion & dirt, especially if it's from the previous owner. Naptha lifts it right off without doing anything to mess up the yellowing. I clean mine once a year or so. That one really isn't too bad at all, but I'd probably clean it if I was putting it up for sale.

Yeah this was my cellphone camera LOL
I love aged maple boards but this thing had everything from dirt to dog piss on it....but then again, I paid next to nothing for it. When I brought it home I thought the paint was severely fucked but after cleaning it for a half hour, I realized it only has one ding and a small scratch on it...although it's not very glossy anymore. BUT....it looks cool and looks like it has been played...apparently by everyone who plays guitar and a few household pets.
I cleaned the neck a little and got rid of the black garbage on it and now its cool looking, clean and sanitary
I'll probably clean it some more the next time I change strings in a month...I saw a big difference, got lazy and just wanted to play again...I'll post better pics with a real camera soon
