  • Where to hear Charvels in action?

This forum seems quite technical, so sorry if this question is in the wrong place but it is a question about Charvel guitars as follows:

Please can you recommend some albums on which Charvels were being used and which showcase particularly good guitar performances.

Dokken. Lynch used them on the early stuff. I'm gonna say through Under Lock & Key, but somebody more well versed than me will know exactly when he switched to ESP.

Vai used the Green Meanie for most of DLR's Eat 'Em & Smile, and I believe he used it for Flex-Able.

I have heard that George Lynch used Charvels with ESP painted on the headstock back in the days, after he became an ESP endorser. Don't know if it's true, but I wouldn't be surprised.

You could consider Ed's original frankenstrat a Charvel.
Steve Vai's Green Meanie is a charvel

Bruce Kulik used ESP guitars on Asylum.
Vinnie Vincent used Jacksons on COTN, and Lick It Up
Mark St John used Jacksons on Animalize

Eddie Ojeda from Twisted Sister had that hot pink bullseye Charvel.

Not sure Stay Hungry is a Charvel showcase album, or what tracks he recorded with it, but if you like Twisted Sister its kick ass.

Think he now has a custom Wayne version of the same guitar.

Marc Ferrari & Brian Jay from Keel used them up until the self-titled album.

He was using it when he was in Alcatrazz too.

Keep in mind that what artists play on tour can often be VERY different from what they used to record.
                          "Got a crazy feeling I don't understand,
                          Gotta get away from here.

Waitin' for the sun to appear..."

Reading in a GW last year he used a Red strat for Flex-able IIRC. I don't have the issue here at work to confirm it.

most Gary Moore concerts from around 86 - 89. Check youtube for cips from 1987 stockholme vid.

Quite possibly one of the finest sounding charvel tones I have ever heard!
