That is nice. The other flame design looks like it should have a grill painted over the flames with hot dogs and hamburgers cooking on it.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. To me, the Flame Up did not stand up to closer inspection.
      No!

WE MUST FIGHT TO THE DEATH!

I saw it from about 4 - 5 feet away... Was it that much cheesier up close? It reminded me of something you'd see on a '32 ford.

I stuck my face right up against it - that's how close I got to it. Basically, the first thing I noticed was that when the flame went over the edge of the guitar, it was just cut off - like the tip of one piece of fire, instead of being pointed, was cut flat. Just looked very... like the flame stickers they put on those Chrysler PT Cruisers.

The yellow flame is a graphic IIRC. that may explain the abrupt end of the flame near the edge of body

the blue one is painted by some dude named mauricio luna.

I have to disagree with many Charvel lovers here... I think the blue flames look rather cheap and fake compared to the work that Mike Learn or Dan Lawrence do.

                Very cool.

Well done on getting it. It looks fantastic.

I really enjoy your youtube videos of you playing your Charvels in your band.

So, if you're playing soon; a video of this guitar in action is a must!!!!

understandable. They both do amazing work.

Although I haven't seen anyone here comparing this graphic to Mike or Dan's work, and as far as I know, neither are doing graphics for Jackson on guitars at this price point.

Check out Mike Learn's posts in the JCF sponsors section of this forum. If he can do custom warbird paint for $600 (including both sides and headstock!) I'd imagine a few flames would be affordable. So, buy a used Charvel USA for $600-$700 used on the bay and send it out for a killer $600 custom paint job. This works out to just about the same price as a blue flame Charvel.
FYI, I am not associated with Learn Guitars, just a huge fan of his work!

Looks incredible. That's a great way to use a true flame graphic. Two hum and no tone control is perfect, too. Looks like an MIK OFR.

BTW, who painted this? I was thinking of getting a used black Dinky and having that painted on it.
