Looks great Andy. All the talk of frets and having them shaped, modded, filed, etc, is way outside my scope of knowledge. I just play the damned things. I have noticed that both my Charvels have frets that I actually feel if I slide my hand up the neck. My other guitars aren't quite as "sharp" if you will. I just thought this was a Charvel thing...but apparently, after reading all these posts, it's common on all guitars..particularly guitars that are subject to various temperature changes.
To be honest, the rough edges don't bother me at all, and they don't really affect my playing. But I will say, the SoCal (that I exchanged)...it's neck was warped/bowed....whatever you want to call it...it wasn't straight. I was going to have a setup done with a neck adjustment, but picked up the SD strat instead.
Either way, I dig your decision...the sea sick looks sick...I really like it. I liked it when I saw it in the store, and I like your pic. Keep us posted on your progress...as far as getting it setup to your liking.
