  • Test drove a bunch of Charvels yesterday

I was at Rocker Guitars in San Francisco yesterday and test drove a bunch of Charvels.

Warren DiMartini bomber, metallic gold with Jackson style headstock (and hardtail bridge!), swirly finish strathead, EVH stratheads, Stars/ribbon finish strathead, Grover Jackson legacy strathead...they were all really really nice. Very consistent neck profiles (although the EVH ones seemed to have a thicker neck with tall skinny frets and a noticeable fretboard radius).

No real news here other than they were all super nice guitars that played well with great attention to detail. Dammit, I need a Charvel now!

I haven't made it to Rocker's Guitars yet. Did it seem like they were priced well?

The list and sale prices were on the tags. Prices seemed in line with most ebay dealer prices. The guy at the store said they were having a big sale and were ready to deal on everything. So yes, prices were decent but not astoundingly cheap.

        Pointy

I called them about the pointy headstock Charvel. Said the color was more tangerine than gold. List price they had was $1400. But they couldn't send any pictures of the guitar. Said they were working on getting a PC setup at the shop.

Is their website down? I have tried the link on the Charvel site but can't enter?

I'd like to check out what they have for custom shop Charvels.

It looks like that's it. Just the page with contact info & no links. Nothing else shows up on google for that domain, at least when I check.

              Yeah, I googled too.

That's too bad. I'm in the market for a new Custom shop pointy reverse HS (today?).

I may place a custom shop order but then the instant gratification character defect wouldn't be satisfied!

Yes, it is more tangerine than gold. My mistake. To my knowledge, they never had a full website up.
