Would anyone like to see Charvel make another artist signature model besides the Warren DiMartini's? Who else in a well known band is endorsed by Charvel?

There are models from previous artists I'd love to see again, like Jake (natch) and Holdsworth but I'm not sure there's too many people right now. Jim Root would have been awesome but he went to the dark side...

As far as established new bands goes.. there are none at all, take a look at ESP, Schecter, Jackson..etc, they are all heavily into promoting bands/Players to sell their guitars.
I really dont know what Charvel are doing endorsment wise.. The only player on the official website is Warren ( Awesome that he is, he`s the only one I could find)

Jon Levin uses Charvel yet there is no sign of him on the official site? (does he have a sig guitar?) I think Sam Coulson is a great player why not promote him.. he may not be Van Halen in the guitar hall of fame but he is well worthy of some sort of advertising.
Back in the glory days of the 80s there was an artist on every page of the Charvel Brochure.

George lynch should come back to where it all began for him, and make the original Bengal .
      Please Charvel.... Promote your players!

A solid maple body with a bengal print would be nice.

Beyond that? They could use some new names.

A Jake model would definitely make me buy my first Charvel and add it to my current stable of Jacksons.

How are they getting away with a Strat headstock? And is that Warren D himself painting the skull on the 4th one down?!

I don't buy into the whole signature model thing. True, I play Les Pauls in additon to two Charvels and that's the original signature model if there ever was one, but that's the standard production model in that line.

For a Fender or Charvel guitar, how hard is it to make a "signature" model anyway? You change the pickups, maybe a different paint job, swap out a few parts, a voila! Now you can charge double! Rediculous! Any player can do those same swaps with parts they can find on eBay, and for a lot less.

I've modded almost every guitar I've ever owned. Sometimes it's been something major like a pickup and electronics change, but sometimes it's been as simple as new straplocks too. Whatever, I see making these mods as how I make a production guitar truly my own. What I play is not off the rack, and it bears MY signature!

When it comes down to it.. I`m not too bothered about sig models coming out.. I buy guitars on playability and looks, not because some dude has his signature slapped over the headstock.. which looks a bit tacky IMHO!

What I would like to see is decent hard working players in bands getting some recognition and publicity for their love of Charvel Guitars..

If you look on the official Site, there is a section where you can send your biog and CD off to them.
Has anyone seen a Charvel endorser lately... errr, . . .Nope!

They should get with the times and get some new blood up there on there site.
I bet there is a good selection of awesome young talent out ther in JFC land who would love a chance to get their name out there.
I tried for a deal.. our band made 10,000 sales of our last album.. not massive but a good effort considering all the illegal copying of music these days... but it wasnt impressive enough for them! and we got ignored.

I`m not a Jackson player but they give new talent some great publicity out there in metal land.

                        http://www.jacksonguitars.com/artists/ 400 artists and counting..... Charvel. errr. . .1

I've never been interested in buying a guitar because so-and-so plays it, but there have been some signature guitars I would have considered simply because they had unique features I desired.

Vai's JEM is a good example. The monkey grip is cool looking, and the angling of the cable jack is ingenious. I'm trying to remember if the JEM was one of the first with the AANJ, but if it was, again a good selling point. The scalloped upper frets intrigue me, although I haven't spent enough time with those to have a firm opinion.

Rusty's signature at one point really had me excited. I appreciated the efforts to improve upper fretboard access. I also like the fact that there is no tone knob.

Jake's not interested. The JCF Admins (and a few helpful JCF'ers) helped JMIC get in touch with him (and Warren) a few years back.

Given the current state of things, I suspect J/C has made a conscious decision to more heavily weight the artist relations & sig models to the Jackson brand. Jackson is the "new" brand with young blood endorsements & models, while Charvel is being marketed more towards its 80s roots and heritage. Hence, only Warren and (previously) EVH.

Not to mention the fact that Charvel's absence from the market for many years led many former Charvel players to build endorsement deals and strong relationships with other manufacturers. For example, Lynch (ESP), Vai (Ibanez), Jake (ESP), and so on. Not trying to be critical, it's just the fact of how things played out through the years. We should expect that it'll take more years to truly build the brand back. ...And they're off to a good start, so far.
