Aside from stars(which dont sell) Charvel has only "consistently" ever made strats and tellys. Have they made other shapes sure, but not in large numbers. Given the intent of pro mod series why would you expect anything other than what they have done and are doing? If you want all the options you have listed nut up and buy a custom. Otherwise move along.

Done and fucking done. I can't buy another plain-ass-old-guitar no matter what they paint on it.

I just saw the inspiration for the new batch design here....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GlTloqb0ho

Your approach was a little heavy handed and people are going to defend their favorite product just because of that.

But, you do make some good points.
Charvel and Jackson should be doing something "different" and more modern as a part of the line.

I'd like to see them come out with a line of carbon fiber guitars in the Jackson name and some type of modern Charvel with things like locking tuners, better truss rod adjustment locations etc etc.

That being said, the guitars are good quality if conventional in design.

I'll take quartersawn over birdseye any day of the week. The only thing birdseye does is look cool. Quartersawn is where its at in terms of stability.

Different bridge? What different bridge? You want a strat with a tune-o-matic? A Fender hardtail? A Kahler? No thanks, I'll take a Floyd.

Dual action truss rods are an engineer's solution to a minor problem. Further, single action truss rods are lighter and necks made with them seem more resonant to me.

I believe that if you're one of the .5% of guitar players who use a sustainer, you can go out and buy one aftermarket and enjoy it.

Explorer? Go buy an chEapiphone or a Gibson.

Real men don't need contoured heels.

Lucite? Really? What is this? 1970? Go call up Dan Armstrong and buy one of his.

That's WHAT THE PRO MODS ARE, man. Two models in black, a quarterly color/finish, and a "wildcards" that have some slightly different features, however at this price point with USA labor you're not going to see too much different from what the base guitars are.

If you don't like it, order a Custom Shop. They'll do most if not all of the stuff you listed.

Okay then....so with this run Charvel is officially OCTOMOM of guitars and you get to play "your father's guitar" over and over and over and over.

Sustainer? Already on PC1's and the DK2S
Dual action truss rods? PRS, Fender, even Warmoth...it's pretty much the future
Contoured heel....DK1, PC1, Custom runs....what's your problem with this?
Your dumb argument-attempt just gets worse from there. Sorry, but you've just come up with one of the most nonsensical rants I've ever heard.
WTF...Lucite body is the freaking coolest thing ever. EVER!

Gees does anyone wonder why they're giving the Tele's away? I ended up with three new ones for $550 each! I'll part them out and make a couple hundred to build a cool Warmoth with a countored heel, EMG 85X, Jackson copy headstock, a sustainer, dual action heel adjust trussrod, Steinberger tuning machines and a recessed Tune-o-matic. Damn, do the math, I'll still have $500 left over! Have it your way, GrampaTurk.

Mark my words...soon enough everyone, just I have, will get tired of these plain old things and stop buying them. Check Ebay...used prices tell the story. Stuff like this sells to 'repeat offenders'...who wants a bunch of plain old OCTOCHARVELS!

I have a bunch of (10 or so) custom shop Charvels. Let's face it. Ordering a custom shop Charvel is a waste. For the $3000, you get a nice $1500 guitar and they get $1500 for the strip club. Buying it off the shelf is a little more resonable. Case and point...Warren Demartini sig models. I got fooledx2 there. I like them just fine...but really....$2300? Really? Really!

So has anyone figured out the 3rd color yet? I see Slime Green and Candy Tangerine of course but I cannot tell the 3rd unless it is some kind of swirled green color of some sort. Any ideas? This was a bad batch teaser, not much to go on but at least 2 already released colors.

Ok, the entire point of the USA Production Model Series was to offer a Charvel at a killer price. We looked through the custom orders over the years. We developed this instrument after compiling those specs.. like a greatest hits record. There is a basic recipe for a Charvel.

These guitars are easily modded, which was one of the points.. mod away! Change the pickups and hardware etc... I love watching what people do to these things...

In the Custom Shop, you can specify fret size, woods, binding, bridges, contours etc... that is the point of the Custom Shop. We do this everyday...

I have Custom Charvels, USA Production Models and an old Journeyman Charvel from Japan. I dig these guitars...

Hey Code Red... I hear you... but looking at your posts... seeing how many Charvel's you have.. I just say, Thanks! PM me if you want to ask some questions, or discuss the thought process behind our efforts. Take some pictures of your stuff and post them...

Batch 8 tomorrow fella's... I'm sure once it's all out, you'll have some questions...

                            Talk to you soon!

                            Mike

I have som questions about the new wildcaard Mike:

What is the difference between standard black and flat black? Is the flat black not so shiny?

And what does it mean that a PU is wood mount?

                              Thanks in advance!

Standard black is glossy while flat black is closer to primer.

Wood mount means that it is mounted to the body instead of a pickup ring.
