The light streaks were done using a Maglite LED. The guitar was laid on a blanket in a completely dark room, camera switched to "Bulb" and fired the shutter. I quickly waved the Maglite all around the guitar to light it up and the streakes are where the LED shone into the lens. Strangely, the streaks recorded blue yet the reflections on the guitar body are white. The shutter on the camera was closed after about 20 seconds. I moved around fairly quickly and didn't stand still so I'm not captured in the image.
I set out to copy the style of a photograph of the band Tesla which was on the back cover of their "Mechanical Resonance" album.
