Not sure I understand exactly what you're asking there. Do you mean a fretboard swap? A luthier would start fresh with a new fretboard.

If you mean would the pointy neck fit the strathead body, the pointy neck has a 2 1/4" heel and the strathead body should have either a 2 1/8" or 2 3/16" pocket, so some woodwork would be needed.

That graphic is too cool. Charvels only have real value to a select few people, most of us are just way to cheap LOL!

If you could get it for a price you would be comfortable with, it is not too much trouble for a (very) skilled luthier to put on a new board and fix everything else as well. The restore would be on the order of another $500 -$600 or so, and you would probably want to drop in a set of old SDs or Dimarzios, but this would be a labor of love and would not be about making money (particularly in the short term) so much as getting that guitar back to what it should be.

On the whole, I would guess that you will not be happy with the trade based on your posts and concerns or else you would not be asking for opinions as you would have already done the deal as you appear to know how hard it is to fine any real s-heads like that, let alone one with such a cool and desirable graphic.

One thing to consider. If this guy wants to sell, even money says it will not be too long before he reaches the right audience and one of the usual suspects grabs this one and it too will be gone. You can always buy another LPC as it is only money. In my experience, money has little to do with laying hands on a cool old s-head.

          YMMV.

said the kid is 19 and likes to throw guitars around his neck??...and does not want to restore her just play her, which is understandable...
but man if your gonna do that ....at least buy a reissue
            expecially for that money?

Keep the Paul, the scallop finger board kills it. Keep it,, Keep It,,, Keep it.
