A little late to this thread, but nice guitar bud!
Where did you get a double cream SD Custom Custom? I thought Dimarzio were the only ones that did double cream pickups??
Tnx
There was a way for a dealer to order them through Duncan in the past, but now Dimazrio is going crazy enforcing their patent or trademark. Ever since Duncan stole Malmsteen from DiMarzio. So Duncan won't do it at all anymore. If you know the right people you can still get double cream Duncans that were ordered before this.
Wow that's beautiful but I'm curious, how well does it stay in tune when you use the bar? Or do you just not use it?
Thanks
Well, it is no Floyd, but there are some tricks for keeping it in tune. Big Bends Nut Sauce helps a lot... Let's put it this way - if I'm gonna do a song with huge bar work (lotsa big dives, etc.), I'd use another Floyd'd guitar or my Suhr Guthrie, which stays in tune even though it doesn't have a Floyd...
How do you like this neck compared to the 22 fret custom shops?
I like both styles of neck. I have them both. The neck on this guitar is fatter and wider (1 3/4" nut). Definitely chunkier than the 22 fret necks I've played, but still nice and fast... I have played 22 frets that are a little fatter and some that are as thin as the USA Pro Mods...
Damn that look could almost tempt me into a v-trem! Almost...
