Hey guys, just got a Style 1 1-2H in Candy Blue. We tune down to D standard and I normally use 10-52 strings. I put some on the guitar and the neck started to bow a little. After a while I took them off and put on 10-46 same tuning and the neck went back to normal. Just wondering if those of you who tune down and use heavier strings have had to adjust the truss rod. It's not a problem for me to do it (been doing guitar repairs and set-ups for more years than I care to count), just wondering if anyone has run into that. The reason I ask is that I never had to do it to any of my other guitars when setting them up this way except my Les Paul Custom, but granted this Charvel is the only bolt-on I have. I like the neck as straight as I can get it and low action. One thing I've noticed, these guitars are very stable trem-wise. It didnt take much at all to adjust it and set it up parallel to the body when I changed strings. It stayed put, and no tuning problems, even when I switched to the 10-46's. I'm really digging the neck too! Thanks in advance for all replies!
