  • Vivian campell played a flat black san dimas with dio!

I just saw this video on youtube of vivian playing with the late ronnie james dio (god it sucks to say that! rest in piece ronnie!). it is the exact same model as the last batch wild card. flat black, one hum, chrome hardware etc. anyone else notice this?

How can it be the same new model? Vivian hasn't played with Dio since about 1985.

Is this the one with the shield or coat of arms on it?

I heard this one received a Last in Line graphic, and may have also later been his bare wood/fractured pickguard guitar after the graphic was removed.

I've never seen that pic, thanks for posting. Gotta love the tooth earring that was ever so present in the early to mid 80's.

my point was I never knew that charvel made this model before. it was cool to see it from back in the 80's. think it was an intentional move by charvel?

It's a flat black single hum Strat with a chrome OFR. It's not exactly exotic or unusual.

Are you sure it's flat black and not just played to hell? I think it probably had been shiny black at some point. Seems that most floyds from that era were chrome too.

you can tell it's flat black in the live outdoor show. I really doubt he "flattened" all the gloss off the entire guitar! lol.
