I did too... It looked really nice but I would have preferred the maple board.

I don't know what it is about these San Dimas models...but when Charvel opts not to put a ring on the pickup, it just looks out of place. I bought a Trans Kandy Gold back a few months ago, and never could get used to the bridge pickup without the ring. The two single coils are fine as is...but I never liked the look of the bridge pickup. So when I recently modded my Telly, I took the black ring off the neck pickup on that guitar, and put it on my San Dimas HSS. Unfortunately, unlike a cream ring that I took off a PRS CE22...which, like yours, fit snugly around the pickup, no such luck with the Charvel ring. I don't really want to drill into the body of this guitar, so I just used a little automotive double-sided tape, and stuck it in place. I just like the look of it so much better with the ring. Here's some pics (I think I posted these in another thread as well...but since it's the theme here, figured I'd post again).

Looks great without the ring. Very custom. Ring makes it look like a Model 4.
