i never said anything about me not wanting them to still make production models with a few corners cut, go ahead and keep that up, business is business
what i was saying that i PERSONALLY will have no interest. people should really read things properly on here.

I like the fact they made the Promods affordable, even if they did skimp a little on the trem and a less detailed setup. I've done fret leveling on brand new custom shop and boutique guitars that cost far more than the Promods.

i was more talking about Jackson, the production model range seemed to have more range, imports and USA, DR2, SL2, AT1, JJ1, SLS etc. etc., im probably wrong, just my opinion

Most of those didn't last long at all.

I have issues with BMW. I want to spend 128i money but I want the car to be an M3.

Just slap on an aftermarket spoiler and get some M3 badges off eBay and it will be just as good as... No - better than a "real" M3.

after getting some new German Floyds & the absurd issues with them I'll take a Korean one over the new M.I.G.'s in a heartbeat.

I the REAL floyd I have one of the fine tuners was stuck when I tried to tune it for the first time the other day. The MIK ones may not be a smooth but they turn.

Reissues of the model series, complete with pointy headstocks and chainsaw cases. There is an entire demographic who views those as the real Charvels. Yes, I know that is not true, but for many players my age the model series were our first exposure to Charvel.

I regard only the 1986 Model Series as real model Series Charvels. Kahler trem or nothing!

Ya got lucky... On mine the fine tuner threads are cut so poorly they can skip an entire turn of thread causing over a half step instant pitch change if ya bump into em gently.. The hinge pins in the saddles that are so loose they buzz constantly is a nice added benefit too

                            I'll take nothing, then.

I have a couple of recently-purchased German OFR's where the fine tuners are so nice and smooth that, they almost turn too easily. If you barely brush them with you finger you detune the guitar.

I think I'm going to fix them with some JB Weld.

I see I'm not alone with the MIG Floyd issues. Floyd ought to get Gotoh in Japan to make them instead of Schaller.

In the past two years I've gotten

                                - 2 new MIG Floyds
                                - 2 new MIK Floyds
                                - 1 Used MIG Floyd

1 MIG Floyd came with a cracked string lock block (though that was probably a "Monday" issue at Jackson)
1 MIG Floyd nut came with a buzzy high E
1 MIG Floyd came with a floppy bar
1 MIK Floyd came with a loosey bar
                                -------------------------
