I have a black and red splatter legacy and it rocks, yes it is a vtrem 1h. I love the feel of the neck, it plays awesome and feels awesome, if I had the extra $$$ I would buy a couple more.

The hex head posts are way easier to use and dont get all marred and scratched up like the slotted ones.

If the price were super right on these, retrofitting them with threaded inserts would be easy to do. just takes a drill press and some patience. but the price would have to be really low to justify it.

I think it was more a case of the "Gibson Thought Process"...the closer you can get the specs to 1959, well the better it must be! Never mind the fact that the guys who buy these guitars actually play them.

If the star had a floyd, I'd buy one. TMZ should just retrofit floyds onto all the guitars and call it a day.

Had an OFR on my EVH Art Series that wasn't as good as the Korean ones I've had on the 4 or 5 ProMods I've owned.

No, they're directly in the wood on these. I asked someone selling one on ebay not long ago, and I also asked a dealer.

Like I said, I kinda like some of the splatters, and V trem 1 Hum 21 Frets don't bother me - but brother, when you see a whole lot of cars on the lot, and no other customers looking around , you don't want to be the one paying sticker price.

I'll wait for the next liquidation - because I don't see people jumping on these at $1,499.

i don't know...if they did come down to $999 i'd be tempted, even with a v-trem. i'd just tighten it down and pretend it is a hardtail. a blood-splatter would make a great drop tuned guitar in my band...hmmmm, it's got me thinking!!

It's an easy job if you have a kick-ass drill press.
