  • Possible 1995 Charvel Custom Shop Need Help IDing

First off here's a link to some photos, sorry but they were taken with a cell phone and sent to me.

The seller and I are about an hour apart so I wont be able to check it out until Saturday.

Here's what I know so far though:

    24 fret bolt on neck
    made in usa stamped headstock
Black engraved neck plate with serial number 950755 engraved (pic pending)
Sperzel locking tuners (this has me concerned)
    Comes with HSC
    and obviously missing knobs...

Please help with any idea of how much this is worth and/or if it is actually a 1995 custom shop or not.

I've made an offer of $200 and it's been accepted, I'm planning on checking the guitar out on Saturday if all goes well.

Any help will be appreciated, Thanks!

Its a good price for that guitar. Actual value is probably around 500-600-ish....maybe. I havent tracked the pricing trend on this model for a while.-Lou

      Thanks,

That's what I was thinking as well. It's not like some of the higher quality custom shop's but still a USA custom shop which has value itself.

Hmm. Im not an expert but it kinda looks like a cheap import with a usa charvel sticker on the headstock. Especially with that trem. Sounds like an import serial number to me too. Run that number past Ron. Did the custom shop do 2 pt vintage trems? Is that a truss rod adjustment hole at the head or is it a plug. Its either a cheapo import or a custom shop with some really bad choices IMO. Worth $200 easily if its a USA though.

I feel like it's just a cheap import, someone who probably really wanted a custom charvel but couldn't afford it. They didn't make imports with that style headstock though....

          Who's Ron?

Ok, theres another thread here with about same guitar. Weird. It seems to have been ID'd as a San Dimas Standard from 94-95

Oh, and Ron is our resident expert on import Jackson serial numbers. That number looked like one.

I was confusing that model with this cheap import.

Awesome, Looks like it has the "snow white" finish. Haha. Also, in that case it seems to be original. I thought that the bridge and tuners may have been replaced.

              Thanks!!

As stated, $200 is a good price on a made in USA guitar. As I recall, they weren't very popular due to the headstock shape. I have played a couple and all were very nice players. I'd say you scored.

This guitar is gone. Saturday was too late. Unless there were 2 identical guitars, both missing knobs and all.
