Chris, I thought briefly about gold, but I didn't want to make it 'too' classy. Plus, I like the early 80's vibe, when Floyds only came in chrome, and didn't necessarily match the other hardware

good call hadnt thought about the chrome only days. You could get custom black ones as well iirc they powdercoated and painted some of the early ones that were chrome

Looks great, I really like these creme and brass. The chrome I'm on the fence about but I totally get where you are coming from on it and it does work, I just think it would look a little more dangerous with the black hardware. The chrome does make the logo pop a bit more.

I'll join in on the vintage look fan club. Looks very nice with chrome hardware and the creme Super Dist instead of the ugly ass Invader. Overall a very cool looking guitar. Black with a maple board is a winning combination.

                Love it! Looks awesome.

Keeping the black tuners might've been a little more "period correct", though.

                  Thanks everyone!

shreddermon, I figured brass crownhead tuners would have been the best choice, just not so easy to find...lol!

I may go back to the black tuners. In some instances I think chrome looks 'cheap'....just not sure if the tuners are one of those instances or not yet

damn amazing how different it looks with just a hardware swap. gives it the classic 80's charvel look.

I like it better black on black.
I need a Black and a Blue star.
                      I have a Ferrari Red and a White one...lol

pipsqueak, are yours the 2005 reissue stars? If so, do yours have a fairly thick body? Mine is noticeably thicker than any of my other Jacksons. It's pretty weighty too...

My White one with a rosewood board is heavier than the Red one.
The neck profiles are different too.
The Stars are my favourite shape....I barely ever play my C.S. King V.

Definitely a comfortable, well balanced shape. The only thing that I'd like to change is the output jack changed to a strat style....still trying to implement something like that without butchering anything up

I wish the jack was where it is on my King V...probably going to paint my white one.
                              Maybe I'll move it?
I had the strap pins drilled into the centre of the neck plate and it balances much better.
I have a old Frankenstein Kramer Voyager that is the same kind of shape...except way longer...its a door frame hitter...lol.

I don't know if it's possible to move it to the top wing, like a KV, but that would be ideal
