You're going to return it for that? Is this number 4? For the sake of all the sellers losing money on shipping (and yourself if you're not getting reimbursed for your returns) you should stick with buying after you see a guitar in person.
Yep, thats what I plan on doing. It is costing me too much, this is not a broken neck or huge dent, but not sure if this will get worse or not, most likely not, but I would not have purchased had I known about it. I have never seen a issue like this before. There is a first for everything, this is the first time I have see this. Yes, this is 4th issue with on-line "new purchases", so I am done with that.
Bummer.

I would send it back to man. I wouldn't give it a second thought. I won't buy gits online, theres just TOO many variables. TOO much shit that can go wrong. Fuk that.
Take the screws out super glue the wood back down.Drill the edge of the hole slightly larger and put the screws back in probably not see the repair after that.
A petty reason to send it back and lose money.Cool guitar.
+1. or just remove the screws & sand it flat. its a PROMOD, they aren't high end customs. IMHO they are mass produced, slapped together and sent out. I liked my SD1, great guitar for what it is, but it didnt come close to my other C/Js.

I'd fix it, you should see the things I ended up having to do to my Wolfgang Special when I got it! It was used and the repairs weren't too big and I love the guitar. I guess I am saying look at the big picture before you send it back. A little super glue and wood filler looks like it would fix it no problem.
If the wood glues down smooth no need for filler.
Glue it back in place hit with some activator wipe it off and let sit 15 min or so put the screws back in and play.

Wood filler in almost any screw hole on a guitar is a good thing in my experience, seems to fix the stripped ones (of course) better than "tooth pick pieces" and seems to make the others just a bit tighter and seems to improve sustain in certain applications. I also check the nuts on all the tuners to make sure they are tightened down and not vibrating because they are loose on a used guitar. For instance when I got my Wolfgang Special the direct mount pickups were loose, some of the holes stripped, sustain picked up big time when I added filler to the holes and tightened those bad boys down and after adjusting the trem claw screws I noticed they were a bit loose and added some filler to those holes. My string retainer was screwed in too far and I added filler there to tighten it up when I loosened the screws. Anything loose or vibrating is taking away from sustain on the guitar...
