I'm starting to seriously consider pulling the trigger on a crossed swords... but the one pickup scares the daylights out of me.

Wow!!! I was just looking at GMW's archive photos on Saturday. I saw the "Frenchy" and it had a disclaimer that they wouldn't do the graphic anymore. My apologies for false information.

Let us know if the order goes through.

I've seen that GMW French replica in person. Killer guitar! Graphic was done by Dan Lawrence so it is identical to Warren's (except for the gold leaf that Dan did specially for Warren). There is a SD TB-14 in that GMW French. But when you order from Lee you can specify which pickup(s) you want. I've put RTMs in several of my GMW orders. It's a small upcharge for the RTM since it's a custom shop pickup but well worth it.

Can anyone give me an idea of what some of the guys here paid for them? If its going to cost me close to an actual warren charvel then I'm going to pass

rhoadsfan11 you will pay a premium for a Dan Lawrence graphic, and this one is considered a true custom work. Plus I don't think GMW is doing them anymore. This was the consensus of opinion over on the USAC forum from which I have recently resigned.
They term it banned for life, all I wanted was to withdraw my membership for reasons that I really do not have to explain, these things are almost common knowledge.. I was yngwie308 over there and had contributed to threads about the Warren Frenchies.
No love for the reverse or black French here???? These are stellar graphics and WDM breaks out that one every so often.
I am aware that shawn was the one who snagged the NAMM guitar back when and that the French was originally advertised, but never produced.
Hopefully shawn will post some pics as the ones I did see are gone forever on that other Charvel forum.
Even if GMW did a French it would be some serious cash.
There is another artist who does this graphic I found on the Interwebs.............

The banner/cloth surrounding the crosses seem to be the most difficult part to reproduce accurately. Gold paint can be used, not necessarily gold leaf is needed.
Not sure which one this is:

Sim's Custom shop is the site that does this graphic:

                    Good Luck
                    Wayne version:

I use to do this replica - until Fender slapped my pee-pee. They didn't come after me for the graphic, but for the strat headstock. Beware....even if you buy a "licensed by" Fender neck, it is illegal to put it on any guitar body that is not a genuine Fender!!!
                        Anyway, here are some pics.

I haven't talked to Lee about this graphic in a while. GMW stopped offering them since Dan starting painting the Warren graphics for Charvel. Dan won't paint one of the Warren graphics on a production model for another guitar builder due to his relationships with FMIC and Warren. But there's always a possibility of finding another artist to do the graphic. You'll get some slight variations in the graphic like you see in the pics from Emerald. No different than the variations you would get on a crossed swords or blood drip and skull.

As for price, yes, you will pay about the same for a GMW as you would a Charvel version (probably under $2k). From your last post, looks like you'd rather go with the Charvel crossed swords due to price. Almost sounds like your initial thoughts that the GMW was a cheaper knockoff. Both are great guitars but if you're looking for a closer replica to Warren's, the GMW is something to consider. The Charvel for some reason has black hardware on the crossed swords (and bomber), but that's an easy swap if you want chrome like the original. The build and playability on both are great. So I don't think you can go wrong with either the Charvel or GMW. I would make the decision on which guitar you really want and see if you can make it happen.

It's a very difficult decision because I've always loved all of warrens graphics. I could literally throw them all in a hat and pick one and be satisfied
