  • Are brass rings and zebra's expectable on my slimmer?

Hey dudes. I wana ask all the vintage San dimas fans out there... I'm looking for some vintage vibe on my slime green San dimas reissue style 1.... I'm thinking brass rings, knob, and zebras... Would we have seen this color on the original San dimas models? And if so, are these mods listed above exceptable for that vintage vibe I'm seeking? Input is greatly appreciated. As always, you guys rock!

It's your git, so whatever you need to feel the vintage vibe is acceptable. I personally like my slime just as it came from Charvel, but tweak away. The changes you propose are reversible so no harm no, no foul. Just keep those old parts.

So you're trying to put your Slimer on a diet and make it slimmer?

If going zebra pups, I'd say black or creme rings would be fine. If going double creme pups, then creme rings.

The creme clashes with the slime, sorry.

On that particular color I believe black is the answer...

Something about the black.. I just hate. Thinking a chrome Floyd, cream rings and pups

I think cream rings with black pickups would look better.

It looks good on this green PRS.

you need a super faded tarnished gold floyd, creme rings sold creme pickups and super worn brass knobs...it would work in my mind then but then again im crazy.
I just did this one out an old esp that i had and that is a very tarnished worn gold Synclair. Granted it aint green but it would achieve the look i THINK your going for.

Been there. Done that (creme and chrome on a Slimer).

mm..I dig the zebra and creme rings!...I think for those other pics, not having a maple fretboard makes a big difference in the color scheme...

Those zebras were new (B&C) but appeared lighter than the rings when the flash went off, making them look almost B&W.
