  • My '93 Ford Tempo is kinda like a darker Robin Egg blue. It says to people ...Yeah, I bought this ..so what!

    Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

great call, i remember paying upwards of 50 per ounce since i was not buying alot of it, certainly nothing near what it takes to paint a car that is,
but it was around 36 per ounce if you were buying a bunch. i put about 40-50 hours into it and then sold it Ross, and I didn't bother sanding the neck down because the fretboard was finished as well, which is what i really think hinders it tonewise. it didn't sound good and just wasn't a cozy axe to play
unfortunately. it was great looking but 3 years, and $1,700.00 and change later, it was a bust.

edit- correction Ross it was in the 34- 38 range per half ounce , not by the ounce as i stated. it only took an ounce and half to paint it but had to buy 2, no biggie though.

fell way way short in sound and playability to what i was hoping for. it just goes to show that some guitars are magic and some are not, but it hurts more when you have one made and it does not deliver, once it's ready to be delivered.
        Amen.

You have to have faith and cross your fingers and if it has some soul in your hands, you're extremely lucky.

Gotta be the wait. If you're THE most impatient person walking the globe then I'm def. the next most impatient mofo, walking behind you grumbling. "hurry the fuck up."
I generally try not to let my asshole get puckered outta needless stressing over shit I can't control but I have to admit I've developed a bit of apprehension over CS's delivery. My Star was fucking kick ass so I'm inclined to think, "Jackson CS will do the same" But when ya hear a lot of shit about screw ups and "doesn't quite have the mojo" you can't help but get a little salty especially when you consider the 3 K or so you dropped and the 2 years it'll take to get in your hands.

              • Welcome to the waiting room gentle men... I'm soon approaching 22 months on a Jackson CS run. I don't think they've even started.

If you haven't been contacted, either you didn't order anything really unique or they haven't started. Sad but true.

What's the general take on canceling a custom order? Not saying that's what I wanna do, just curious if someone can scuttle a CS order for a full refund of the deposit? I suppose that may differ from dealer to dealer?

Contact your dealer. Usually it takes the approval of Jackson to cancel an order if you want a 100% refund.

There's been some talk about pickups etc etc. The run is a 7 string Soloist SL2H which is very unique.

If there's some questioning a year or more after the initial specs have been laid out, then they're just starting or in production.

Just to follow up- apparently, @ CS, if there has been nothing built yet, you are entitled to a full refund providing that your dealer has a provisions for such in his refund/cancellation policy. In other words, even if it's cool with Jackson, it might not be cool with your dealer.

They are about as bare bones as a guitar gets and any number of part makers can make the same shit. I know this is a J/C forum, but imo it's the same design as 100000 other guitars available anywhere every day. Warmoth has your Charvel yesterday.

Ok, maybe i was kind of a dick, but seriously?
Wow that's really an amazing luminescent post. Maybe I should just buy a $99 squire strat and paint it with a rattle can cause I mean it's the same as a charvel or 10000 other guitars right? I mean it's just wood and paint.
