    What are the major differences?
    As I see most CS are using the same woods...Alder and Maple.
    Same Floyd....tuning pegs...etc....

    The hardware on the pro mods is definitely not the same as you would get on a custom shop. I don't know about the woods. I'm guessing the woods for a CS is at least a little bit better quality (hopefully).

      The wood used on the CS guitars in my experience has been more resonant and the necks have had much tighter strait grain. The hardware is better and the over all fit and finish is much nicer. I own both. The CS also lets the paint dry before installing cavity covers.
