I love matching headstocks, but with the body binding matching a natural maple neck, the natural headstock looks better unless you get the headstock bound as well, but that looks weird on a strathead.
I almost ordered a hum single too, but I use the single so little that I opted for just a 1 hum.
In my case, the painted headstock looks better, cept it ain't gonna say Jackson:

I'm gonna say yes, the matching headstock looks less vintage if you ask me. Depends on the vibe you're going for though. It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

I think yes, the painted headstock balances out the guitar and a white logo on there would look killer and also balance the body binding..."Rule number one: In my van, it's Rush. All Rush, all the time. No exceptions. Rule number two: Nobody touch the red button. And I mean never touch the red button. Most importantly, rule number three: There's no jerking it in my van!"

About 50/50 - so far, you guys aren't helping much to make this decision. LOL
Xeno pretty much nailed my dilemma - I prefer a matching headstock for this one, but think the overall design might look better with a plain headstock to better match the body binding. ...Maybe I should just ditch the binding, instead.
BTW, for those advocating for a white logo: that might look cool with white-ish ivoroid binding. However, I'm planning for cream binding to better match the PUs and maple neck. So it'll have a gold logo, which will match the hardware. ...well, I mean it'll be gold assuming a matching head. LOLLast edited by shreddermon; 07-06-2012, 12:59 PM.

Let's see the bottom part of those guitars. I'd have to go natural neck on the red one."You have a pud..your wife has a face. Next time she bitches..I'd play cock bongos on her cheeks..all four of them!" - Bill Z.
I just just had a sudden urge to sugga dick..! If I wore that guitar and didn't suck male genitalia..somethin' is very wrong! - Bill Z.
