It should work if you have the cover off, i use a 42mm titanium and a 37mm titanium on mine and the 37 actually feels better somehow to me (I don't know if I'm insane...)
on the cross swords that I owned, the 37 was to short and the 42 was two big.
Don't all the DeMartini's come with 37mm, the snake I just got has 37 engraved on it... I'm actually thinking about the Tungsten since it's the same physical size as the stock but as heavy as the big brass.
