  • Just picked up this Jake Charvel

Just picked this one up! It is one of the 2007 limited run guitars. The original owner had the pickguard made with the slanted single coil slots and correct knob/switch placement. He also replaced the black bridge/chrome saddles with a chrome one with black saddles. I just found a correct black JEL bridge online that I'll be replacing it with. Great player...

Wow, a couple of these have changed hands recently. Or is this the one that came with all the passes and Jake Paraphenalia? How does it sound through the Cherry Bomb?

It's the one that came with all the Jake paraphernalia. I made what I thought was a reasonable offer and he accepted...

Haven't been able to play it through the Cherry Bomb yet - everything is all packed up in preparation for the LA Amp Show this weekend. I'm going to be traveling on business for a few days and needed to pack everything up today...

I saw that one and was tempted, but seem to recall the price was on the high side for me..
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

The "Buy It Now" price was ridiculous, but he was also accepting offers! I offered far, far less than the "Buy It Now" price and he accepted... I think he was just trying to hit a home run on it with the memorabilia. He was reasonable on price in the end and the guitar is mint...

He told me he still had the original bridge for it. You may want to ask him

Same question as I always ask. Does it have the 2 different fret sizes?
I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

Nah man - these didn't even come with the pickguard with angled pickup cutouts - that was changed out by the previous owner. These are just cosmetically somewhat like Jakes from the Custom Shop...

Oh... that would have been cool, but since I didn't know he had it, I already bought another accurate JEL bridge that will be here tomorrow...

I just plugged it into one of my amps and the guitar is humming like a sonofabitch! Sounds like a missing ground wire. Gotta take it apart to fix that... I'll probably put in an EVH frictionless pot as well - love those!
