never really heard to much of him, watched 2 of his youtube vid's and then enjoyed some Joe Walsh.....the guy can play but like most of the shredders, boring after the holy shit factor wears off. for some reason guys like gilbert, vai, macalpine, friedman or becker have something more melodic that i can actually listen to while others just sound like high speed scales and sweeps just babbling show off shit....Comment

I've seen Guthrie at NAMM over the last few years. Usually at the Cornford booth noodling and fielding questions. The man can play! And nice guy to talk to. I'm glad to see him with Charvel. I've seen most of the monster players mentioned in this thread such as Uli, Petrucci, Gilbert, MacAlpine, Friedman, YJM, Vai, Holdsworth, Gus G, Loomis, Eric Johnson, Satch, etc... love all those guys. I like Guthrie too!Rudy

I know some guys have been doing this for a long time but... I just can't shake the feeling that it's unnecessary compensation. If your taping is sloppy, practice it slow and clean until you can speed it up.
