There are many good ways to wind string so they lock on the peg 3-4 wraps work great on a Vtrem or TOM bridge guitars.
I find Bill Baker's method works very good on TOM and Vtrem guitars so thats why I do it that way.
The guitars I work on get some really heavy use and the guitar players are happy not to have to retune between songs.
I use what works best for my situation.

I've got two stars, pointys. Listen to the advise here by stray and others, and don't listen (too much) to people saying the v-trem can't be stable. Other recommendations are always tune a string from below and come up to the tuned note.
