Awesome. Make sure to give a detailed review of the SH-5, I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

Is yours like some of the others you linked, with a volume for each pickup and no tone? I like that setup, makes me think about rewiring one of mine...

    As usual, nice grab.

Delivery is on Wed. They use USPS Priority. Gotta love quick deliveries.

I loved the old JBs that I had back in the day but the newer ones are definitely different.

Edit: Just noticed that it's a hard tail
      Ok, nice to know.

I use the SH5 in most of my Jacksons and I love it. Among the bridge pickups, I've also tried the TB4, SH1, SH6, SH8, SH15 and I like the SH5 the most. The TB4 is okay in my old strat, but I don't like it in my neck-thru Jacksons. The SH6 is quite nice too and I use it some of my guitars, but it's not as smooth as the SH5, and the SH1 is not hot enough for me for metal. It's nice for bluesy stuff, though. I've never liked active EMGs.
Hmm... Sounds like I might like it. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

The red one is on the way, but damn, I like the white too. I hate when that happens! :<

Thanks! Actually, from what I understand it's two independent volumes and a toggle. I usually never use tone knobs, so this is fine with me. I'm sure it would be easy to rewire if you want to do it differently. I agree though, I really like the layout.

Hmm... I guess I could review the guitar. I usually don't review custom stuff, cause well... it's custom and there's not much point in reviewing a one off, but since the store has had a number of these with the same specs and continue to get them in, I can manage that.

Gorgeous. Red was the right call in my opinion - love the subtle burst.

I don't think it's a burst. Look at the full picture in the case. I think it's just the lighting. But if it's a burst, I don't think I would mind, but that's the only picture where it looks like that.

Love it the way it is.

Could have sworn I've seen ones like that at an online store in recent years.

If you feel up to it a review of the guitar would be great, but I was mainly interested in your thoughts on the SH-5. I've been very curious about that pickup, and your past 'reviews' have been very detailed and useful on other gear. Would love to hear how you think it differs from other pickups...

Congrats! I've always liked those. Looks like it's got a little scallop on the lower horn, too.

Yeah, it has a lower horn cutout, so that's kinda old-school too. It's modern retro... and I like it for the same reasons I bought my ESP strat.

I'll review it Ward. I haven't tried this pickup, so I'm interested in how it compares against the EMG and Super Distortion that I love so much.

Perfect. I've got EMGs and Super Distortions, so the comparison should be useful to me.

I can see it on the last pic and the headstock shot too. It's badass either way, but I think the stealth burst is way cool and very unusual. Let us know when it arrives - I might need to recalibrate my eyes!

I kinda noticed that too. It is subtle and I thought it might just be the lighting in the pic. What do the specs say?

I'm interested in your feedback on the custom as well. It's still my favorite pickup I've used so far.

I'm positive that it doesn't have a burst paint job. It's just Ferrari Red in funky lighting. I'll get it today so I'll post some initial impressions before doing a more detailed review.
