I have a first run USA and its a great guitar.
Go to any hardware store and buy some rubber O rings and slide one up under the trem arm collar works pretty good too.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

If they're not budging on the $1100 price, it probably means they're checking prices online. IMO if you're not gonna set up a site, even at Gbase, don't check prices online.

I was on holidays in BC(I'm from Alberta) a couple weeks ago and one shop I went into had about 7 or 8 USA Charvels. A couple style 2's as well as a few Pro Mods and San Dimas. The salesman said they can't give them away. Said they sold tons a few years ago and then sales just died. They had them on for $699 with the gig bag. I should have bought a couple if only for the price.

The Zoo music in Fort Worth has a few also. They seemed a little cooler than the one's on Garland. When someone walks in the door they need to talk or people will think they aren't interested in selling anything.

I was talking about the guys at the Garland Texas Zoo Music stores in the above quote, but after dealing with them on a couple of other pieces of gear since then, I must recant what I said about them in the previous post,

They are a bunch of ricks with a P! I will never deal with those asswipes again.... ever ever, ever!

Glad I got the San Dimas I always wanted but from now on 'till the end of my days, my shadow will NEVER darken their doorway!

Zoo Music ........up yours with a rusty pitchfork!

I'm just the opposite - if you jump on me as soon as I walk in, you're 90% guaranteed to lose a sale. Gimme a minute to see what's in your store besides the salesmen, and do not try to "sell" me anything. If I want it, I'll buy it. If I ask about something in particular, don't ask if I'm interested in buying that particular something before you answer the question about it.

And never - ever - tell me "no, but we can order it".

I can order it, and probably for less.

When I worked in music sales I learned to acknowledge people when they came in the store just so they know I was there if they wanted it help. For me it was always a casual thing. The only thing worse than being jumped on is ignored.

Last year I was in Guitar Center for about 2 minutes and had been asked if I needed help by 4 people. The last guy I said something to him about it. He was very defensive.

When I went to get my glasses, I thought the clerk was waiting on a customer, so I perused the frames. Turns out, she was chatting with friends who had stopped by. I waited and waited and waited for the idiot to acknowledge there was a customer. 15 minutes later, I had the frames picked out and was still waiting.

Every time I go into Radio Shack for solder and wire and other related bits I'm met at the door by a clerk asking if I need help. "Not unless you've rearranged the 10'x10' store so that the TVs I don't want are on the left and the cell phones I don't want are on the right."

Nothing wrong with a cordial acknowledgement, but let me get to the product before you say anything more than "welcome to..." or "how's it going".
Obviously if you have 3 guitars and one amp and no display case, there's not much to say anyway.

High-pressure salesguys licking your ass for commission. I actually feel sorry for them. They need to get over their fear of work and take one of those crappy factory jobs. The pay is better, and you retain your dignity.

                        When I am asked,
                        "Do you need help?"

                        My reply,
                        "Are you a Doctor?"

fun to watch the reply on there faces...

Happy New Guitar Day!!!! Rock out!!!!
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.
