For some reason tonight, this question popped into my head and I realized that I have no idea how the stripe on the back of the neck is done. Are they routing a channel and putting some darker wood in there? Is it just a stain? Inquiring minds want to know

I think the skunk stripe is usually walnut and is inserted after the back of the neck is routed for it. Nothing to do with the truss rod since that channel is on the other side of the neck under the fretboard.____________________________________________

That looks like good work Uli, I enjoyed those photos. That video above is exactly what I had in mind when I wrote my first post. I assumed the skunk stripe was there just for looks. Where would the truss rod adjustment be for a one piece neck, at the heel?____________________________________________
