I'd leave that thing the way it is. Gorgeous in my opinion.

Finally worked out a deal with the owner of SD Charvel 1015 and happy to have the old girl.
Its been played, loved and shows her age and thats just how I like them.
Kahler must have been put on when the guitar was fairly new because its a pre production unit according to Kahler.
That would be right about 1981 and the guitar is an 81.
DiMarzio pick ups and original vol knob.
Body is deff 2 piece maple.
Lucky enough to pick up this cool mutt in the deal an 86 model 3 with a USACG birdseye neck. German OFR 80's DiMarzio PAF out of an old Hamer and a little 59 in the neck.Jackson J-100V in the middle just to fill the hole.
Mini toggle is a sweet switch and give a slight wah effect when its on.
Its been a good day picked up an 2005 L.P.Std as well.

The fact its the 15th 4 digit serialized Charvel and its still together is a miracle.Original red phenolic nut is in great shape too.
Plays pretty damn sweet too. Just need to shim the neck a little to get the action where I want it.
Find a brass neck plate so I can save the original from buckling any more.

That looks exactly like the guitar that companies try to relic nowadays, especially in that color.

                              Amazing.
