USA San Dimas tele

Hi -

So i just bought a purple san dimas usa tele, should be arriving a couple of days. Quick question, as these pickups are mounted with pickup rings, how large are the pickup route/cavity below? I want to swap out the JB with a black winter but i know that pickup is larger in height. I have a mij san dimas with direct mounted pickups and i know it didn't fit without routing the cavity (which i didn't).

I'm thinking it should be fine as the route has to be at least as deep as the pickup mounting screws. And since these are used to raise the pickup, it should work.
