  • Flame up neck question I'm not feeling the nasty look of the neck

So what other maple neck will fit the flame up I would like to start with a clean neck and put my mojo on it. I have no intentions selling the original neck I just want to get cleaned better and if it come out good I will put it back on.
thank you very much for your time Rich.

Plenty of Charvel necks on Ebay. Cleaning someone else's finger funk off your neck won't be too hard.

Musikraft will make a neck with 2 1/4" heel. Or buy from eBay. Best necks are worn in USA Charvel. Otherwise it's kinda pointless to have a Charvel.

Uhh....why not just clean it and put it back on. Why buy another neck? Even if you do buy another neck, if it's not a USA Production Model neck then you've just got a mutt.

I have had a few mutts and they have been some of the best dogs I have had lol. Well after more hours than I care to count the neck is clean enough to get the wife's approval I'm goin to Tru oil it and put it all back together. I also discovered that one of the saddles would not move due to rust on the pin so that is also fixed.
          thanks for the replys Rich

Yeah that neck looks great. Could probably use a fret dressing, though. That's what I would worry about instead of the discoloration of the wood.

Ok for those asking i tried all the things that were suggested Murphy oils soap Mr clean pads Naptha. Each did a little bit to clean but i wound up having to scrape it with a razor then sand it with 600 grit sand paper all the way to 2000 sand paper after that i used Berchwood Casey Tru Oil on it i do not like the way the Tru Oil came out so after i enjoy it for a while im going to remove the Tru Oil and find something else to treat the wood. The after pictures do not do it justice it is a night and day difference on how clean it came out. the neck dosent look as good as my Crossed Swords neck but i am very happy with how it cleaned up.

Yes sir it needs to have the Frets done as soon as i can find someone in SW FL that i would trust with it.

Thanks Rich, I need to do the same to my guitar so it's good to know I tried mine with 0000 steel wool but it was too light to make any difference, so i'll grab some sandpaper like you suggested!

What didn't you like about the tru-oil by the way? It's what I used on my Charvels after my recend cleaning attemps, along with Berchwood casey wax.
