  • Charvel with Dive only Floyd?

Wondering if there are any Charvel USAs with dive only floyds? I'm enjoying my EBMM Axis and like the non-floating trem.

    thanks.

Just add an FU Tone trem blocker. I've done that to all my Charvels, even the recessed ones.

Matt - do you mean the brass block? I've had expriences where I didn't fully enjoy the tone of the brass... made the guitar thinner and brighter. It also limits diving because the brass block is so huge.

Just drop the Floyd on the body and shim the saddles up. I did that on my old Charvel Star.

A block of wood stuck in there with some servo tape works well.

I buy the limited diving thing but the rest sounds a bit strange considering all OFR blocks are brass to begin with.
To replace a brass block with a bigger one and get a thinner and brighter tone must be very unusual.
Titanium or tungsten yes, but brass no.

Sorry should have said trem blocker. This is the piece:

I believe the 1st Pro Mods (USA made, 1st gen MIJ's as well) were non recessed, so those should possibly be set up for dive only

You can still pull up on a non-recessed trem.

Which is why I added "should be possible to set up for"
But I must add that that isn't all that much simpler than blocking a recessed floyd

Actually, the post was in past tense, which made it sound like that's how they originally came set up from the factory. My bad for the misinterpretation, though, sorry.

Twice the price, but I prefer Tremol-Nos, no added holes and more flexibility.
