  • Charvel EVH Art Series USA (fake?)

Anyone got some more info on these? One came up for sale locally and the price is almost too good to be true. It is a USA made one.

Thoughts on price? Features? How are the necks in comparison to the ProMods?

I asked for bigger pictures to see closer.

Things that worry me at first (small pictures so...):

-Looks like a blank neck plate
-Floyd baseplate seems to be wrong shape. All USA art series I've seen are OFR

Were there Chinese knockoffs of these?

I will post pics if he sends me better ones.

    Hard to say without pics.
Should have an engraved neck plate and the EVH hologram sticker on it.

Well I guess I'll link to the small ones, not much to see though:

      Front
      Back
      Headstock

Like I said, asking for more pics. Hoping I can get one from inside of trem cavity. It's only an hour away but I don't wanna make the drive unless I know its legit. doubtful.

        Fake.
The neck is all wrong. Logos are totally fake and the 12 fret dots are too far apart.
The trem is not a Floyd... some licensed copy.

That's what I thought. Totally forgot about dot spacing!

          Thank you!

I used to see the faked necks a lot on eBay.

Yeah don't know how I missed that. I emailed him for more pictures (bigger and requesting certain shots) he sent me some but of same size with none of the shots I asked for. I then told him I didn't believe it to be genuine Charvel and although thats probably reflected in the price (the price is too good to be true) he should mention it so some unsuspecting kid doesn't come spend his $ on what he believe's to be the real deal.

              We'll see if he responds.

I'll add them here for fun, I requested a close up of the bridge and a shot of the trem cavity and neck plate:

              One
              Two
              Three

Close looking copy but not the real deal(none of it)! I had to look at my white one to compare the paint, the stripes really aren't to far of. He should not have put the trem cover on the back. also the truss rod adjust at the but end of the neck. pick guard is a little off also.

What are you seeing in the floyd that makes it a copy? I can't make out shit from that small picture.

If you can get a real EVH Art Series they are damn fine guitars. Too bad this one isn't one.

                    Zoom in on the pic.
Looks like a TRS angled base plate.

Gotcha, it helped when I got it on a larger monitor. Thanks.
