  • Charvel Masterbuilt San Dimas Zebrawood and Wenge

    I just bought this guitar. I have not received it yet. Totally looking forward to it. It's is a Charvel Masterbuilt San Dimas made from Zebrawood and Wenge. i did not buy it from rainbow, but from the guy that did. Let me know what you think.

      I never had tone woods like these in a guitar before, so I am really curious. I'll deal with the weight, as I played heavy les Paul's for years.

                      I'd say it is somewhere between maple and mahogany...if that makes any sense>>> brighter than mahogany but warmer than maple...

                          I bought this guitar on eBay before you did and sent it back. If you look closely in the light you can see divots in the neck where the stainless steel frets were crowned. It was also one of the most poorly balanced guitars I've ever held. I own the original that rainbow copied these from and it doesn't have the balance issue.

                            it's a crazy incredible guitar. The added weight I'm sure is going to make it sound so much better then a standard San Dimas. That Zebra wood looks amazing. WOW I'm totally loving this guitar. You are inspiring me to have a custom built model myself.
                            Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it when you get it.
