I'm glad the new Select So-Cals have the football jack, unlike the Mexican ones. I'm interested in checking out that Torred color in person, but what a poor decision it was to mate that body with a fretboard neither maple nor ebony. Least you can swap out the neck.

I paid $999 out the door for a first run So Cal when I was living in Alaska.

For $2,000- no way.

Wasn't there mention of how the first USA production models from 2008-20?? were built on the Fender standard line? I'm assuming that these Selects are built on the same line as the DK-1s. Is that going to be different from the Fender Standard American line? FWIW I paid $919+Kralifornia tax=a little less than $999 in July 2008 when they first came out. I don't think think I would pay $2000 for that same guitar today, even if I had $2000 burning a hole in my pocket and it came with the SKB case like the Selects apparently do. It's possible these Selects are just better built guitars than the USA Production Models from 2008 (which were damn fine guitars already), but I guess we'll see.

Anyone know when these new guitars are shipping? I called Sweetwater and they didn't know.

I think the fretboard wood "option" is based on the color selected. Ex. The only SoCal available with a maple board is in white. All other colors only come with rosewood. I previously saw more detailed spec sheets that had them listed this way, too. I wish you could choose either/or, though. Kind of silly to not allow it.

I had heard shipping in October, although some of the early prototypes are already out there.
