How well did those 2008-2010 USA Pro-Mods do, sales-wise? At $999-$1099, surely people would have seen they were much more affordable than comparable Jackson USA Select Series of the time...? I was absent during 2008-2010... bills took priority in my life so no gear buying for me then.

In my opinion, the draw to those US Pro Mods was the fact that it was a decently built guitar with quality components and was made by American hands. In a day and age when almost every guitar on the walls of local shops are "Made in *insert slave labor Asian country here*" and it was something you could take pride in owning.
I could spec out a full custom build with a Musikraft neck and body for cheaper than $2,000. When you approach $2,000...you're into an entirely different ballpark with options. Used US PRS', Suhrs, and new US Jacksons are at that point.
I want to play one, but if it's anything like my 3 US Pro Mods, they're not even close to a $2,000 guitar.

I'm not even sure these are going to be like the last run of US Pro Mods. Those were built at a different pricepoint. I'm expecting the extra K to bring around some fit and finish improvements.
They have to be at least to American Deluxe quality to make this worthwhile.Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day, set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

Those Pro-Mods necks were not quarter saw maple. They were flat saw.
They had quarter saw maple necks when they were produced in Japan.
The Korean Floyds were the same on both.
These new American necks are quarter saw. Better construction material IMHO on these than the original Pro Mods. And the German Floyds are great.
So the price is probably right on for what you are getting.
We will have to wait for a real world, "Hands on" review.
Something tells me theses will be what the originals should have been.
"Wild Cards" should be amazing, if they return. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

I think this new series is going to be a step above the original Pro Mods, judging from the sales lit.
Just remember, in 1984 to spec out a custom color Charvel with a Floyd would run you $1600 easy, or more. and that's in 1984 dollars according to the US Govts inflation calculator, that would be a cool $3699.50 today. So $1999 is still a good deal for a USA Made Charvel with specs rivaling that of the early custom shop models.

I find it to be overpriced if it is 1999 usd. That is a no go for me. even if the specs are better and you get the german floyd and quartersawn neck I still won't pay that kind of money for it. I was hoping for something in between the pro mods and Jackson USA select. About 1500 usd would be better.'08 Jackson Custom Shop Soloist
