Hey folks, had Lee at GMW do the refin and conversion to a non-recessed floyd and it looks *stunning*. You would never guess the hell this guitar had previously gone through, it's now as good as new! Will share pics as soon as I get it re-assembled to my liking -- it needs a little bit more trem route adjustment due to some rubbing against the cavity, and a shim in the neck slot to get the pro-mod neck to line up right. After that it should be good to go!

And yeah, Lee had to put veneers on both the front and back to get it to look "right". A bit overkill for such a beater guitar really, but still a cool indulgence. I also stuck with the H-S-S config even though the original was 3-TITE + vintage trem.

Thought y'all might enjoy this set of shots: https://photos.app.goo.gl/XDURHNdlMXPsjbxw2
Unfortunately I don't have a pic of the guitar in its original config, which was 3-TITE & Vintage trem. Poor thing has been through a lot!
I'll try and get some higher quality shots some other time. These don't quite do it justice. It's essentially as-new now... the neck, body, everything. The mods done by the Jackson CS to convert from Kahler to Floyd I hate to say were really poorly done (Lee who did the refin was similarly appalled).Last edited by Bert; 07-25-2017, 08:15 PM.
