  • How to tell if a Kahler is original or added

I earlier posted that I scored a San dimas Bengal, and it's got a Kahler on it. Is there any way to know if this came with the guitar when it was built or it was added later on? it's an 83 San Dimas pointy head.

Bodies w/ orginal Kahlers should not have a route that goes all the way through the body like a V-trem or floyd route. So if there is a back plate for the trem, most likely the Kahler is a mod. Hope that helps.

Hey ken ,thanks no there is no route thru the body. Hey I just got the snakeskin back from my luthier. He changed the trem to an original Floyd and crowned the fretts. he also straightened the sides of the frets out , they were beveled a litle bit and really shouldn't have been. WELL IT PLAYS F***ING AMAZING NOW!! I'm going to post picks tonight when I get home from work
      Thanks for a killer axe!
