Anyone who can tell the tonal differences between various fretboard woods must also have the ability to hear cricket farts.
It's not on the custom shop options list, but the custom shop also offers Brazilian Rosewood fretboards for $75 upcharge. I have a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard with abalone dots on my custom shop Charvel. I love the look, and IMO Brazilian Rosowood feels and sounds better than any other fretboard wood. I know some luthiers who say Brazilian Rosewood is the best quality and best sounding wood for fretboards ever, and if you can't get Brazilian Rosewood then go for Pao Ferro.
