Nice!
How does the B/W Bullseye play compare to the R/W bullseye?
[/ QUOTE ]
Quite different actually. Definitely more like a Jackson than a Charvel, but still great. Just in a different way. How about that for a useless answer?
So which neck feels flatter and wider, the Red or the Black?
Are both necks finished the same?
Damn right now you are my idol of the day,
what a cool pair to own.

The neck on the B/W is quite a bit thinner, but width is about the same. The finish on the R/W is nicer to me though, but they are both done real well.
Both look great! I like the way the R/W graphic wraps around the front, and I like the looks of the strathead, but I would need a Floyd.
FWIW The B/W was taken from an original charvel neck profile. If you put my B/W against one of my 1985 pointies they are the same profile.
Stratheads were a different profile than the pointies and were veried from guitar to guitar as different specs were offered IE: 1 5/8- 1 3/4 nuts. Early bolt on Jacksons from the ontario years are loosely based off of the original charvel profile. It remains a chuckle for a few of the charvel guys because a 1987 Bolt on Jackson is very much the same beast as a 1985 Charvel- But the jacksons don't come close in price to money the charvies will command... so if you want the same bang for a much better price buy an early ontario Jackson bolt and you are there...
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes!~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~
Kevin, they are both awesome and I feel lucky to have both. I dont know what part you had in the pointy, but thanks in advance.
They are both incredible players. Although, there is currently a SD Custom/Custom in the pointy, and I am not real in love with it. I may put a 78 in it as that is what the strathead came with and I REALLY like it.
How do you go about getting a SD 78 EVH, do you just order it directly from the SD custom shop?
It's funny you chimed in here with this info kevin, because I have an 83 charvel pointy(my avatar Bengal) and an 88 Jackson full sized strat(Snakeskin San dimas Plate) and the necks are very similar. The charvel is just a touch thicker around but if you blind folded me and handed them to me I would have to guess which is which. I've only played one charvel strat head and it was in desparate need of a set up, so I have no real reference on the neck shape to compare it to.
