Just got a real nice 1983 Charvel catalog(1st year for a real catalog) in the mail and included with it was a dead mint 5-page retail price list.
Some interesting things found in the retail price list which says "Effective 6/1 82" :
* Randy Rhoads guitars - Floyd Rose option already listed for $350, $270 for a Kahler and $100 extra for any color other than black or ivory.
* Charvel "Standards" :
Strat, Dinky, Telly, Star, Explorer, Flying V
* DiMarzio pickups listed as exclusive standard equipment but Duncans could be had for an additional $30 ea.
* Necks: Rosewood board $10 extra, ebony $50, lacquered neck $80, Brass nut $40(anyone ever see a factory brass Charvel nut ??? )
* Strat, Tele, Star, Explorer & Flying V bodies could be purchased in Alder, Ash, Maple, Mahogany, Koa or Walnut
* Guitar necks could be purchased with :
G1 - 1 3/4" nut, wide, flat
G2 - 1 5/8" nut, boat or "V"
G3 - 1 5/8" nut, early 60's
* Explorer and Flying V necks could only be purchased with the "G1" nut and only with Rosewood or Ebony boards, no maple/maple.
