I agree with these guys as well, leave it be, find something else with a floyd, I know how you feel, I've got an 83 all original Bengal SD pointy with a kahler(my avatar) and I was going to floyd it and Chuck(bloodsplatter and Trace(gtrbuyer) talked me out of it and I'm glad they did. there aren't that many of these in original condition. Savor it for what it is. Get a GMW, mine rivals my charvel.

I vote the vintage trem stays. I regrettably butchered an '84 with putting in a Kahler and other mods. Wish I'd left it stock, but it was too late once it was done. Ended up parting the guitar out. You live and learn.
