Whoops!! TheUntalentedOne, YetAnotherOne...too confusing for my little bitty brain! Sorry Mark!
Mark paints this picture of me being some kind of saint...what he left out of the post was that he has done me some pretty sweet turns as well, and I don't mind doing a little leg work to help him out. Hell, I got the time!
She plays great with her thick, black strings... =)
Look at the grain on that neck: That's quarter sawn Maple, nicely straight grained...the real good stuff. And yes, THAT'S what a neck plate on a Charvel is supposed to look like. C/J should be ashamed for letting the new Charvels out with that silly engraved chrome plate on them.
My hands are clean, honest Mom!
In my haste to get her out the door, she left with strings about a year old. (and was kept in the case too) Must be the constant 50-70% humidity and salty ocean air.
Ok I 'm confused, are the guitar Express models the re-issues from last year?
BTW tht's a smoking guitar, I should have jumped on the one Shawn got from BarettaBob when I had the chance

I think that they are from '02 actually. The guy from guitar express went the extra mile to go for authenticy, even going so far as to have a run of "3D" plates commisioned for the project (AFAIK, most USA Charvels made over the last few years came with Jackosn plates - with the notable exception of Toby's HRF and I think he paid through the nose for the 3D plate for that one).

They were spec'd in Jan of 02 and delivered Dec 02 to Jan 03. The order we had was for 30 guitars with an open req for an additional 30 if needed. there were a total of 50 plates cast and the extras ended up on other charvels, including one of mine. They did not charge extra for the 3d plate ..
As far as the other charvels they did not have jackson plates but had laser engraved (etched) charvel plates with a 6 digit number that started with either 95 or 96 as these were left over from the last production charvel run. There were a limited amount of charvels in 95 that were released with Jackson plates before the etched plates were delivered ..
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes!~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~
I stand corrected! I thought that more Charvels were shipped with Jackson plates (I could be thinking of the 1991 eruo s-heads). Also, I recall that Toby mentioned that he had to order that plate special. My bad!

Cool info on that site + thanks to Kevin for making this happen . I nearly bought one from Guitarxpress but had to pass . I am glad I got a second chance .
That little bit of History makes me feel even better about buying . This is one Bullseye that has found a permanent home.
Assuming you actually get it...
I now have two of your guitars (the ESP is here), and Toru is having me handle shipping on a JSX head for him...I guess now would be a good time to vanish!
