Today is a very sad day.

I remember that guitar well and sent that picture to Bret a year or two ago. I have a few more of Darrell playing that guitar. I grew up in
Darrell's neighborhood and played that Charvel several times. It didn't play that awesome or sound incredible but
it looked GREAT. I actually tried to trade my Centerline
wheels off of my car to Darrell for the Charvel.
He had a Firebird and really liked my wheels and he almost
traded me. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
I was shocked to hear the news today . I haven't seen Darrell in about 17 years so I remember him as the skinny kid with big hair who really got me into Randy Rhoads and Dean guitars.
BTW, I have been gathering parts to build a replica of this guitar. Great job.

I'm looking for more pics of the Charvel,I think I have at least one more. The Dean photo reminds me how much fun the earlier Pantera shows were, just fun 80's heavy metal.

That Dean was his first guitar and I believe he still had the Rockinger trem on it at that time..hadn't Floyded it yet.
The band really didn't like him to play the Charvel because they thought it sounded thin compared to the Dean, so he almost never played it.
He won that Charvel in a guitar contest. I believe he won it
the year before he won the Dean that later became his most famous guitar, the Blue Dean ML flame.
