After a year & a half of gathering the most appropriate parts I could find, I'm ready to share pics.
This is an 83 San Dimas 6/12 doubleneck in candy blue (much brighter that I can get it to show in the pics).
I scored this on ebay where it was listed as "Custom Doubleneck Guitar." The original 6 string neck & plate were gone & replaced by an ESP strathead neck & a blank black neckplate.......this really makes me wonder if the original 6 string neck was a strathead or if it was a 3&3 Gibson style head.
The 12 string neck had the Charvel logo sanded off & 4 little string trees randomly placed.
A Floyd Rose was added on the 6 string side, & pickups had been changed to a Super Distortion & an X2N on the 6 side & 2 old Duncan hot stack singlecoils in humbucker sized rings on the 12 side.
I replaced the 6 string neck with an original Charvel strathead neck with the appropriate nut, crownhead tuners, & kahler string lock. I refinished the headstocks & applied repro logos (best I could find)
Pickups are all Duncan 59's except for the 6 string bridge....it's a Duncan Custom.
The tremelo backplate was made for me by a friend.......its not perfect but it will work for now.
